I am in the key phase of my training for the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and I just don't seem to be recovering from my weekly runs - do you have any advise? Recovery is a vital to your overall performance and I would go as far as saying that it is more important than training.

If you do not take any recovery supplements, I would recommend starting to take one. There are a number of great products on the market so do some research and see what works best for you. If you are taking a recovery supplement  then maybe look at changing it up to a new product. I change my recovery products from time to time so that I am always feeding my body something new. Try taking some glutamine just before bed time as they is a great way help your muscles repair themselves. I would also back off your training a little, either reduce your millage by about 15-20% or cut down the amount of quality training you are doing. If you are not following a training plan, then I would highly recommend following one so that you include sufficient recovery periods in your running. You could also try and change up your training a little, try one or two new quality training sessions as your body my just be getting stale from repeating the same workouts. Lastly but most important, try and sleep more. In our busy schedules the first thing we often cut down on is sleep and this is the phase when our bodies to all the repair work. I would even suggest skipping a session a week to get more sleep.
